Michael Benner is a children’s book author and dad living in Central Texas. His debut picture book, MAC & CHEESE: THE ORIGIN STORY is scheduled for release in July 2026.

Michael is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and winner of the 2025 Austin SCBWI Cynthia Leitich Smith Writing Mentor Award. Michael is also a member of the Writer’s League of Texas and multi-year participant in Julie Hedlund’s 12x12 Picture Book Challenge.
