Michael Benner is a children’s book author and dad living in Austin, Texas. His debut picture book, MAC & CHEESE: THE ORIGIN STORY is scheduled for release in 2026.

In 2023 and 2024, Michael was an award finalist for the Austin SCBWI Cynthia Leitich Smith Writing Mentor Award. He is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, the Writer’s League of Texas, and Julie Hedlund’s 12x12 Picture Book Challenge. He also regularly takes classes at The Writing Barn.
